| Q. How does it work? | | A. Using a variety of techniques, specially encoded frequencies embedded into the tracks stimulate electrical responses in your brain. The frequencies are designed to match your brain's natural rhythms (brainwaves), causing the brain to synchronize with the stimulus. Once synchronized, the brain will follow the frequencies as they change. This is commonly called the Frequency Following Response (FFR). | | | | | | Q. How do I use the meditations? | | | A. That's the easy part - the hard work has been done for you. But we have some suggestions to optimize your meditation sessions. Find a quiet place where you won't be disturbed for the duration of your meditation. Sit in a chair and get comfortable. You can lie down if you like but you may end up falling asleep. Loose fitting clothing is a good idea. If the meditation you are using requires headphones, or if there are distracting noises around, put on your headphones (or earphones, earbuds, etc.). Start the meditation track and adjust the volume to a comfortable level. Close your eyes. Take 3 or 4 slow, deep breaths. Then just relax and listen. | | | | | Q. How do I use the sleep tracks?
| | A. This couldn't be simpler. Go to bed like you normally do and play the track. As the tracks don't require headphones, both you and your partner can enjoy the benefits.
| | | | | Q. How do I use the ambient tracks?
| | | A. These tracks are generally designed to block out unwanted distractions. Simply play the tracks on your sound system and adjust the volume so that is both comfortable and blocks out any distracting sounds. If you are in a particularly noise environment then you may find you need to use headphones (or earphones, earbuds, etc.). | | | | | | Q. When shouldn't I listen to these meditations? | | | A. You should never listen to them while operating machinery or driving a vehicle. If you are pregnant, are epileptic or prone to seizures, are wearing a pacemaker, or are under the influence of alcohol or drugs (legal or otherwise) then you should not use these products. | | | | | Q. How do I know the meditations are working?
| | A. Everyone reacts differently but generally you will start to feel more calm and relaxed. You may feel a tingling and parts of your body may feel like they are asleep, though this doesn't happen for everyone. If you fall asleep (and you're not doing a sleep meditation) then it's definitely working, it's just that you are too relaxed. The most important things is to not have any specific expectations on how you think it should feel. Often the meditation effect is very subtle and you are actually meditating when you don't think you are. Continue doing it on a regular basis and you'll start to notice the difference. | | | | | | | | | |
