Are there times you need a quick break from a stressful day? Just some time out for yourself so you can de-stress, even for just a few minutes? While long meditations are generally more beneficial it's possible to have a quick meditation when time is limited. There are a couple of ways you can do this. For example, you can use traditional breathing techniques to quiet your mind and relax: - Either sit or lie in a comfortable position.
- Close your eyes.
- Take a long slow deep breath in through your nose using your diaphragm.
- Hold for 3 seconds .
- Breath out slowly through your mouth.
- Repeat steps 3 to 6 five times.
- Let your breath settle into a natural breathing pattern.
- Sit or lie quietly for a few minutes.
A better alternative is to use brainwave entrainment. Using one of our shorter meditation tracks, for example the 20 minute meditation track on Peaceful Mind, or the 15 minute Refresh free meditation, you'll be able to relax quickly and easily. Not only are the meditations easier and a more effective way of relaxing, but they have the added advantage of blocking out annoying, distracting external sounds. Also, you won't lose track of time because the meditation will bring your mind back to normal consciousness at the end of the session and leave you feeling refreshed and energized.
